On a beautiful morning of 1st February 2025 at Government Naveen Higher Secondary School, 25 Battalion, Bhopal, the air was filled with excitement, laughter, and the earthy aroma of fresh soil. Ojaswi and Ishan, along with their families, teachers, school children, and volunteers, came together for a heartwarming tree plantation ceremony to make their wedding a gift to the planet.
How We Made Their Wedding Greener
Step 1: Setting the Stage – Our team at The Happy Plant Project arranged everything for the plantation drive. With the school as our venue, we ensured that every plant had the right space to grow and thrive.
Step 2: A Green Beginning – As the couple arrived, they were welcomed by enthusiastic children holding saplings. With hands in the soil, they planted the first tree—marking the beginning of a tradition they hope many will follow.
Step 3: A Forest of Happiness – The entire wedding family, school teachers, kids, and volunteers joined in. Together, we planted a variety of fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees, including: Fruits: Mango (Aam), Guava (Amrud) Shade Plants: Neem, Peepal, Kem, Karnaj, Tecoma, Satparni, and Ashoka
Step 4: Celebration & Awareness – After the plantation, the school children and guests shared their thoughts on climate change and the importance of trees. The day ended with music, laughter, and a shared commitment to a greener future.
